  • Founder Shareholder

    Brian Reeve is the Chair of Southampton Financial. He has over 30 years of experience as an M&A and Regulatory lawyer in the Canadian insurance industry. He has acted as the Chief Agent in Canada for a number of foreign insurance companies including Great American Insurance, Aspen Insurance U.K., AEGIS, New York Life, and Hannover Re (Ireland). He was also the director of multiple Canadian insurance companies and insurance brokers such as Hartford, Everest Insurance, Jevco, and Jones Brown (1990-2020).

    Brian has a long and successful track record of investing in the Canadian P&C insurance industry. Previous investments have included Jones Brown, GCAN, Strategic Underwriting Managers, and Front Row Insurance Brokers. He is currently a shareholder of South Western Group, Trinity Underwriting Managers, Ridge Canada Cyber Solutions, Steer Insurance, ICPEI, and Fortress Insurance Company.

    Shaz is a seasoned professional with more than 20 years of leadership and management experience. Described as “brilliant” and an “organized, creative and responsible leader” by his colleagues, he is skilled at forging and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships built on trust and grounded by his solid business acumen.

    Whether taking the lead on complex, multi-dimensional projects such as Hyperion and Solvency-II, maximizing operational efficiencies, or building and managing high-performing teams, Shaz approaches every challenge with a highly successful combination of confidence, intelligence, and instinct.
